Lab Collaboration Results in Publication in ‘Inflammatory Bowel Diseases’

This study explores how autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (aHSCT) reshapes the immune system in people with severe Crohn’s disease who do not respond to conventional treatments. Tracking patients for up to two years, the researchers found strong changes in circulating T cells after transplantation, particularly in those who improved clinically. Interestingly, immune changes in the blood did not fully match those in the gut, highlighting important differences in systemic and intestinal immune recovery.

We are happy to have contributed to this beautiful piece of research, which advances understanding of how immune “resetting” therapies function in Crohn’s disease.
