Emma has submitted an incredibly interesting thesis entitled CD4+ T Cell Development During Early Life: Towards Age-Adapted Vaccination.
A highly relevant topic, as our immune system changes profoundly during early life, with important consequences for how we respond to infections and vaccines. Emma’s work addresses how CD4+ T cells develop and mature during this critical period, and how these age-dependent differences may influence vaccine-induced immunity.
Understanding these developmental changes is an important step towards designing vaccination strategies that are better adapted to the age and immune status of the individual, rather than assuming that the same approach will work equally well throughout life.
Congratulations, Emma, on completing this important body of work! We are very proud of your achievements and are very happy to hear that you have also been accepted to the Infection & Immunity master program at UMC Utrecht. Congratulations!
